Indy 300

Sunday, the 17th of October, the Indy 300 was held. This race was an important race. CBS news says many of the drivers were excited but new that there was going to be at least two bad crashes. Dan Wheldon was in one of the crashes and wasn't so lucky with the outcome of the crash. They said he went airborne and ran into the fence. There was fifteen cars involved in the bad crash Sunday the 17th. Wheldon was air lifted from the track to the hospital. Short time after he was lifted CEO Randy Bernard announced that thirty-three year old has passed away from unserviable injuries. This race was the first fatalities in a race since 2006 when Paul Dana died and later on Dan Wheldon had won that race. Dan Wheldon was racing for Sam Schmidt, whose own driving career was cut short from an accident. Many of the drivers had concerns on the track approaching speeds of 225 M.P.H. The whole crash started when two cars in front of Wheldon were swerving and one of the racers tire went over the top of the others, then they went airborne and startled more drivers considering Wheldon. Danica Patrick quoted that it was like a movie sense when the crash all happened. Indy car driver Ganassi, said all of us died a little bit today with the death of Wheldon.
